Students may wish to pursue a Double-Major program in the Faculty of Science. Consultation with, in addition to specific course selection and approval from, the departments involved must occur prior to the commencement of any Double-Major program. Your coverage becomes effective on the date the application is received by your employer but in no event prior to the commencement of active, regular employment. The plan provides you with regular income to replace income lost because of a lengthy disability due to disease or injury. Benefits begin after the waiting period is over and continue until you are no longer disabled as defined by the policy, the scheduled date of your retirement, or you reach age 65, whichever comes first. If you do not apply for optional dental coverage within 31 days of gaining eligibility, you will be considered a late applicant.

This is slightly different than IPV abuse patterns for men, which show that 79% of acts of IPV take the form of physical violence, and less than 1% involve sexual assault (Sinha, 2012). Interestingly, in 2011, a slightly larger proportion of physical assaults against male intimate partners resulted in injury (55%) compared to female intimate partners (51%) (Sinha, 2013). IPV affects women at greater rates than men because women often take the passive role in relationships and may become emotionally dependent on their partner. Perpetrators of IPV work to establish and maintain such dependence in order to hold power and control over their victims, making them feel stupid, crazy, or ugly — in some way worthless.

Location & Hours

Those who are required to work on campus in order to maintain essential services during any period of closure shall be paid at the rate of time and a half. Your spouse and/or dependents covered under the Provincial Government Medical Service Plan and your extended health group plan are also covered for medical emergency travel benefits while travelling for pleasure. The employee may elect to discontinue participation in the pension plan during non-work periods of one month or more in duration, but must advise HR of their intention in writing. Some Limited Use drugs are covered for a maximum number of days or weeks or years, while some are approved for lifetime coverage. For others, it means not participating in ANY sexual activity with a partner, or even with themselves. Some people are only abstinent for a selected period of time, with one person, until they reach a certain life milestone, like marriage, or even forever. A better, more clear term for what people often mean when they talk about abstinence is celibacy, the deliberate choice to not have a sexual partner for any given period of time, whether it be a week or your life.

A grade of D is the lowest passing grade, however the minimum grade required to use a course as credit toward a degree or diploma program may be set higher by a faculty or school. Each letter grade has an assigned numerical value which is used to calculate grade point averages. Grading scales used to determine the final letter grade may vary between courses and programs. Students who accumulate more than 15 credit hours of failed courses after entering the Honours degree program (regardless of the origin of the grade or if the course has been repeated) will be required to withdraw from the Honours Co-op program. Students required to withdraw from the Honours program may be eligible to pursue the B.Sc. Students are also subject to the academic assessment policy found in the Faculty Academic Regulations.

Plan limits

Drugs used to treat HIV/AIDS

Students (with the exception of students auditing courses) are required to write all final examinations. Not all courses included in the course description sections are currently offered. The course schedule for the current academic year is available through Aurora Student. During an employee’s working career, circumstances and conditions frequently change that might best be addressed by a revision in the employee’s work arrangement with the university. The objective of this policy is to facilitate such arrangements where modifications can be accommodated to the mutual satisfaction of both the employee and the university. All employees in a full-time continuing position will be eligible to request participation in this program. When on-call, the employee must be accessible at all times and must immediately notify his/her manager if inaccessible.

Senate, at the request of some faculties and schools, has approved bylaws granting them the authority to require a student to withdraw on the basis of unsuitability for the practice of the profession to which the program of study leads. This benefit is not subject to the annual deductible and is reimbursed at 100% (to benefit plan limits). Batteries, recharging devices or other such accessories are not covered. Air transport when time is critical, and the patient’s physical condition prevents the use of another means of transport. Emergency transportation by licensed ambulance to the nearest Canadian hospital equipped to provide medical treatment essential to the patient. Accidental means the injury was caused by a direct external blow to the mouth or face resulting in immediate damage to the natural teeth or prosthetics and not by an object intentionally or unintentionally being placed in the mouth. Remember to list your dependents and select them for the benefit on the enrolment form.
