Verder doen beide hardware wallets eigenlijk hetzelfde, echter heeft de Trezor Model T dan wel een touchscreen en beide Ledger wallets Nano S en Nano X niet. Op Ledger hardware wallets kan je meer coins opslaan, namelijk meer dan 1800 en op Trezor devices 1650.
Vanuit je dashboard kan je met de MetaMask wallet ook crypto swappen voor andere crypto. Dit werkt een beetje hetzelfde als swapping services als Shapeshift en Changelly, waar je de ene crypto voor de andere ruilt. Wel betaal je uiteraard een kleine exchange fee voor deze dienst aan MetaMask.
Hoewel dit technisch gezien kan, is het ten zeerste af te raden crypto hardware wallets in winkels, van anderen of op tweedehandsplatformen als Marktplaats te kopen. De makers van dit soort hardware wallets zeggen heel duidelijk op hun website dat je alleen dient te kopen van hun website, wat ook logisch is, want anders kan je nooit weten of de wallet wel echt veilig is.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Ripple and its CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, in December 2020, accusing the company of selling $1.3 billion worth of XRP tokens through an unregistered securities offering.
XRP can make this process much more efficient. Although they need to use XRP as a mediator this time, transaction fees are much cheaper and the transaction would happen in a few seconds. On top of that, changing large amounts of money to XRP can prove to be much cheaper when compared to USD or EUR.
Other potential use cases for XRP involve microtransactions related to online content (blogs, music, video) and the gaming industry. This allows XRP to serve as a cryptocurrency alternative to traditional financial solutions, something that some of the largest blockchain players–like Bitcoin and Ethereum–cannot do natively due to high transaction costs on their respective networks.
XRP operates on its decentralized, open-source blockchain, the XRP Ledger (XRPL). Unlike most cryptocurrencies, XRP is pre-mined, with a maximum token supply of 100 billion. The token’s total supply was/are distributed in three ways:
It’s common to see Ripple (the company) associated with ownership of XRP and XRP Ledger. Ripple does not own the blockchain or the cryptocurrency, but it contributes by running six of the unique nodes on the XRPL network.
Regardless of what the broader crypto community thinks about XRP, it has been among the top crypto assets for a very long time, with Ripple gaining support from more and more companies and institutions.
